Nkoana, Isaac
A beautiful woodblock print by Isaac Nkoana, a South African artist, who was born in 1948. Also known as Isaac " Sir Ike " Nkoana. He is based in Tshwane and speaks the Sesotho dialect variant language, which is not to be confused with Sesotho spoken in Lesotho. The Tshwane dialect that 'Ike' speaks is a marriage between Sepedi, SeTshwana and Sesotho. His woodblock printing is a relief print technique in which images, designs, or words are carved in reverse onto a block of wood using wood carving tools. The image is then inked and printed onto paper, cloth, or other materials.
