• He has had no formal training growing up but later in life was helped by a Cape artist, Hendrik Cloete, who had a studio in Wynberg, where Daniel worked for 6 years before the artist died.
• His medium of choice is charcoal and pastels.
• His work usually depicts people engaging in quiet activities, often playing musical instruments
• His work has been exhibited in the UK, Australia and South Africa
